Lisa Savage is a member of the publications team as a writer/editor at WordSouth. Before coming to WordSouth in 2016, Lisa was a reporter at the Gadsden Times for 22 years covering public safety, courts, education and human interest feature stories. She has worked in the newspaper industry since 1986. Through the years, she won numerous Associated Press awards for her work. She also won five Chairman’s Awards from the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group for investigative, in-depth reporting for stories that uncovered nepotism in county government, in-depth looks at drug abuse and domestic violence, the impact of violent tornadoes, and a six-part series about the 1963 murder in Gadsden of a man walking to Mississippi during the Civil Rights movement.
She and her husband, Rob, live in Georgia.
