In no way comprehensive, the collection you'll find herein is merely a gathering of stories written over the past several years by myself or my staff for various publications (about my company). Sand Mountain is the tail end
of the Appalachian chain running through DeKalb and Jackson counties
of Northeast Alabama. While industrial development and societal
changes have made their mark on the culture, much of the folklife
of these mountain people thrive in this rural environment. Challenges
and transitions are met head-on by these strong souls, and ties
